Debt collection in the Philippines is now under closer regulatory, public, and digital scrutiny. Complaints involving harassment, intimidation, public shaming, excessive calls, unlawful third-party contact, contact-list misuse, and data privacy violations have changed the way creditors must manage collection operations.
At the same time, the regulatory environment has created confusion. Some debtors wrongly believe that consumer protection rules allow them to ignore valid obligations. Some collectors, on the other hand, still rely on outdated pressure tactics that expose their companies to complaints, penalties, reputational damage, and possible legal exposure.
This seminar bridges that gap. It teaches participants the balance between consumer protection and creditor protection. It explains what collectors must avoid, but equally important, it teaches what creditors and collectors may still lawfully do to recover accounts.
